FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

CAN WE BRING OUR OWN MACHINE?

Yes, that is always encouraged since it is best to practice on your own machine. As you know, we have a range of Brother and Bernette sewing machines in the studio. If carrying a sewing machine is too heavy, you are welcome to request a specific machine/model for your kid(s) and we will sit her/him on this machine (subject to availability).

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY KID(S) CAN'T COME DUE TO SICKNESS, HOMEWORK OR TRAVEL?

That's not a problem, you won't loose a session as long as you let us know in advanced. Please let us know at least 12 hours of the class start time, otherwise it will be considered a late cancellation. In the event of a no-show or late cancellation, we will deduct a session from the prepaid set. Paid Packages have to be used within 4 months (for 10 classes) and 2 1/2 months (for 5 classes) after the pay date.

DO THE CLUBS RUN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR?

No, we will break for major holidays such as spring, summer and winter break. We will run classes during the half term break in February and October, as long as there are enough sign ups. If numbers are small, we might merge a few clubs together but would inform you about this in advanced.

I ONLY WANT TO SEND MY KID(S) FOR ONE SESSION.

Most projects take more than one session to finish and we want to give each child enough time to complete each step without being put under pressure. In the past, we also had no-shows and therefore require a little commitment from your end too. Every session requires planning, material purchases and it all costs us money. Please support us by understanding our reasons and we therefore have two different sets of sign ups: 5 or 10 sessions.

I WOULD LIKE MY CHILD TO SEW WHATEVER THEY LIKE.
Once they have an intermediate sewing level, we happily have them sew their preferred projects. What do we expect from an Intermediate sewist: minimum of 1 years sewing and can work independently, understands basic dressmaking terms. Has made at least 5 garments and other craft sewing projects. For any other skill level below intermediate (or not meeting these requirements), we will suggest the projects based on their skills and understanding and mix dressmaking and craft sewing.
