Want to do your bit to support breast cancer survivors across Dubai? SEWPink is about coming together as a community to support an important cause. We will be making heart cushions throughout the month of October.
The heart pillow was created to help ease the pain of breast cancer patients. The pillow is designed to be placed under the arm to ease pain from the surgical incision and tension along with helping reduce lymph swelling under the arm. The pillow can also be turned upside down and placed on the patient’s shoulder to reduce the pressure of the seatbelt when they are in the car.
Even if you have no sewing knowledge, the tasks are easy and can be achieved by new sewing bees.
You can either just trace the pattern and cut fabrics; or sit behind the sewing machine and the DIY heart cushions.
The fabrics (cottons) have been contributed by the community. If you have any cotton fabrics or stuffing laying around, please feel free to bring it along,
All pillows are being given to Mediclinic in the UAE. By participating, you are making a difference in someones life.
