Let's be honest, we all have fabrics hanging in our stash for the last 5 years (or more) ... or maybe you bought fabric online and didn't love it in person. Let's not forget all the pattern we collected from magazines and other purchases; or we used it once and didn't really love it. Either way, we might not use this fabric or pattern for whatever reason, so why not swap it with someone else. Maybe there is a person out there that absolutely loves your treasure and breaths new life into it, turning the fabric/pattern into a project right away ...
So this is our fabric & pattern swap: a fab sewcial event to mingle with like-minded people to chat about sewing and shop new fabric sustainably! Here are the rules:
* Please bring your fabrics, minimum 1m in length so that it can be used for something as small as a cami top.
* Please label your fabric with fabric type, length and width, e.g. 1m cotton fabric 135cm wide. If you don't know the fabric composition anymore, please label it with 'mystery fabric'.
* Your pattern can be in used condition, however it needs to have all sheets of pattern paper and instructions. The pattern paper should not have been cut.
* Any leftover fabric will be donated to a nonprofit organization or Fashion Institute locally.
* If you don't wish to donate your fabric(s), please place your name on the label so we can return it back to you.
* Shop someone else's wardrobe: Do you have any me-mades that you no longer wear? Bring them, and maybe someone else will love your handmade piece.
On the day, we will arrange rounds (maybe up to 4 or 5) to pick your new fabrics and patterns.
We will provide a few snacks. Please bring your own water bottle, happy to provide refills. This event is free to join (bookings required), however if you cannot make it please be so kind and cancel or let us know so someone else can take your spot.
