Bodice Fitting 101

Are you struggling to nail the fit of a bodice of a dress you sewed yourself? You understand the construction techniques but can't get the fit right? These small group bodice fit sessions may be just what you need.


What will you learn?

As the sessions will be tailored to you, here are just some ideas on what the session could cover:

- Take accurate measurements in the right places.
- You have sewn many toiles or garments that just don't fit right and you want to find out why.
- You might have experienced the same fitting issues over and over again but don't know how to fix it.
- Pattern adjustments: full or small bust adjustments, lengthen or shorten a bodice in the right places, raise or lower a bust dart, etc ... to name a few!
- How to change sleeves from simple to statement (e.g. gathered, pleated and tulip sleeves)
- How to make pattern alterations to your paper pattern and toile.

What is included in the course? And what do I have to bring?

Please bring the pattern or project you would like help with if you have a specific issue you want support. We will send you an email a week prior to get to know what you would like to work on and advise you if any additional materials or tools are required. We can provide with the use of the sewing machine as well as white, grey and navy thread. 


These sessions are for small groups of 3 only so you can get in-depth tuition while still benefiting from learning in a small group.
